DeVETTA M. ROTHGEB, 91, of Monroeville, passed away 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at Village of Heritage after a year long illness. She was born Dec. 10, 1921 in Allen County, Ind. a daughter of the late Walter Bolyard and Christina (Fry) Bolyard. She married George H. Rothgeb Sept. 28, 1948 in the St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville. She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church in Monroeville and a charter member of the American Legion Auxilary Post #420 of Monroeville where she had served as a past president and past treasurer. She was also a member of the 40 & 8 Club. She was a graduate of Hoagland High School and was a homemaker. She is survived by her sons, Gene E. (Sue Hackert) Gick of Fort Wayne, Dean A. (Patty) Rothgeb of Monroeville, Gale L. (Peggy) Rothgeb of Monroeville, Neal A. (Beth) Rothgeb of Monroeville and Mark A. (Bobbie) Rothgeb of Monroeville; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, lester Gick, who was killed in World War II; her second husband, George H. Rothgeb; and sister, Juanita B. Clay. A Mass of Christian burial is 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Rose Catholic Church, Monroeville with a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel. Fr. Joseph D'Souza officiating. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Jacobs Chapel, Monroeville.
