ELDON R. BUHR, 71, of Fort Wayne, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 12, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He graduated from New Haven High School, served in the Army National Guard, and was a lifetime member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. Eldon retired from the Zollner Corp after 39 1/2 years in 2002. While at the Zollner Corp, he served on the Board of Directors for Freedom Financial FCU, Worker's Union, and Bargaining Committee. He enjoyed woodworking, making gifts for his grandchildren, and landscaping his yard. He is survived by Carol his loving wife of 49 years; sons, Kevin (Cynthia) Buhr of Woodburn, Craig (fiancee Tamrah Collins) Buhr of Franklin, Mass.; and daughter, Julie (Brian) West of Leo; grandchildren, Alyssa and Tyler West, Micah, Ean, and Isaiah Buhr; also surviving are brothers, Elmer (Vera), Ralph (Gloria), and Robert (Joan) Buhr; as well as sisters, Joan (Clair) Winesburg, Marcella Buhr, and Pauline Carpenter; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Marie Buhr; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Roberta Buhr; and brother-in-law, Earl Carpenter. Service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 7710 E. State Blvd. with calling one hour prior. Rev. Heath Trampe officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd. Burial in St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Fort Wayne, Ind.
