FLORENCE M. YOCKEY, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, at Visiting Nurse & Hospice Home. She was a resident of Coventry Meadows Assisted Living. Born April 4, 1920, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Ioan and Ioana Banut. She attended Central High School in Fort Wayne. In 1942, she married Max Culler of Auburn, Ind., and was employed as head cashier at the Kroger Company in Auburn for 15 years. She later married Robert Yockey and returned to Fort Wayne where she was employed by Rogers Markets and Cub Foods for 30 years. She was a lifetime member of St. Mary's Romanian Orthodox Church. She always loved dancing, especially the jitterbug and Romanian folk dances. Tusa Fica (aunt) is survived by nieces and nephews, Letitia Segyde, John (Marty) Segyde, Rebecca (Robert) Flesher, Augustine (Linda) Segyde, Daniel Banut, Janice (Ron) Nawrocki, and Joana (Rob) Wyatt; and several great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, and one great-great-great niece. " She loved them very, very much." She was also very fond of small "puppy dogs," especially her "Little Mitzi". She was also preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Segyde; and brothers, Daniel and John Banut. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St., with calling one hour prior. Very Rev. Fr. Ioan Ionita officiating. Calling also from 3 to 7 p.m. today, Dec. 19, 2012, with Saracusta service at 6:30 p.m. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery.
