FRANCES M. (BOLINGER) VANNATTER, 84, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Canterbury Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Born Nov. 30, 1927, in Bluffton, she was the youngest of seven daughters to the late P. Raymond and Lillie May Bolinger. The family moved to Fort Wayne when she was two years old, where she spent the rest of her life. She married William B. Vannatter and had two daughters. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Hicks of Fort Wayne; sister, Helen Masanz of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Angela (Craig) Ball, Abbey Hicks and Christopher (Erin) Hicks, all of Fort Wayne, Kimberly (Doug) Schaefer of New Haven, Laura Hartman of Huntertown and Jamie Slaughter of New Haven; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by husband, William Vannatter on July 11, 1994; daughter, Victoria Wuebbenhorst in April of 2008; grandson, Kevin Slaughter in January of 2002; son-in-law, Lt. Jay D. Hicks, ACPD in January of 1994; sisters, L. Marie Bolinger, Bertha Potskoff, Ethel McClain, Frieda Burke, and Mabel Mercer; and brother-in-law, Leo Masanz in 2002. Mass of Christian Burial is 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 4, 2012, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with a Vigil at 5 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
