GEORGE M. ROGERS, 99, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at his home. Born in Wellington, Ill., he attended Illinois State University. He was a farmer in Allen County for more than 60 years. He was a member of Huntertown United Methodist Church, Huntertown Masonic Lodge 689, Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne, the Mizpah Shrine, where he was the last founding member of the Mizpah Horse Patrol, a very active member of the Democratic Party and a member of the Round Table at the Kitchen Table in Huntertown. He was also the Chariman of the Board at Farmers & Merchants Bank. Surviving are his daughter, Barbara (Randy) Bellinger of Leighton, Iowa; son-in-law, Richard Laesch of Fort Wayne; granddaughter, Gina Laesch Colvin; grandson, Jon Laesch; granddaughter, Beth Bellinger Burch; and grandson, Bryon Bellinger. He was preceded in death by his wife, Daphne Rogers; daughter, Peggy Laesch; parents, William and Lula Rogers; and sister, Jean Erickson. Funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Huntertown United Methodist Church, 16115 Lima Road, with calling from 10 a.m. to noon and 1 to 2 p.m. The Rev. Greg Hiatt officiating.
