Glenn Reynolds Obituary

GLENN F. REYNOLDS, 89, of Hoagland, died Saturday, June 28, 2008, 7:05 p.m., at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born on Oct. 25, 1918, in Allen County, to the late Dwight M. and Lula B. (Ruhl) Reynolds. He married Lorine Kleine on April 12, 1941, at St. John Lutheran Church, Bingen parsonage; she survives in Hoagland. Glenn was a lifelong farmer, East Allen County School bus driver for 30 years, worked at the Reynolds Supply Store for 25 years, a Common Wealth Insurance salesman for five years, and was a former Tool & Die Maker at General Electric. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock in rural Monroeville. Glenn also belonged to the Fort Wayne Umpire Association and had been a high school basketball and baseball official. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Gene H. Reynolds (Brenda Burkett) of Decatur, Dale E. Reynolds of Algonquin, Ill., and Kenn A. (Jeannie) Reynolds of Spring Hill, Fla.; daughters, Joyce F. (Jeffrey) Paul of Sammamish, Wash., and Kay J. (Gregg) Kiess of Fort Wayne; sister, Deanna Smith of Charleston, Ill.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Reynolds and Howard Reynolds. Service is 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John Lutheran Church, Flatrock, with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Douglas Christian officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Flatrock.
