I. "MARIE" NEFF, 62, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012. Born Nov. 3, 1950, in Maya guez, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of Armand and Ruth (Mendez) Guertin. After obtaining a commercial arts degree, she continued her studies at Indiana Purdue University of Fort Wayne, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts. She went on to teach Spanish at Indiana Purdue University. "Momma Marie" traveled extensively throughout her lifetime as well as being active in all of her childrens' educations and extra curricular activities. "She was an empathetic non-judgmental and giving woman who devoted her life to her family, 'adopted children'; and animals in need. She was always there to listen and give advice anytime of the day or night. If giving you the shirt off of her back would make it better, then she would go shirtless. Marie's spirit brightened any room she walked into. You could never help but smile when she was around." Surviving are her husband of 37 years, Harry Neff; children, Nicole (Ernest) Lebo and Matthew (Brandon) Neff; grandchildren, Ernest V. and Alexandria Lebo; mother, Ruth Guertin; two siblings, Sandra and Raymond Guertin; five sisters-in-law; four brothers-in-law; nine nephews; eight nieces; and three great nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Armand Guertin; and father-in-law, John "Jack" Neff. Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, at Hodges Funeral Home at Naples Memorial Gardens, where family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to: ARC - Animal Refuge Center, Inc., PO Box 6642, Ft.
