JACK K. DUNIFON, 90, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, at Coventry Meadows. Born April 13, 1922, in Decatur, he served in the Army Air Corp as First Air Comman dos. He served on Fort Wayne City Council for 16 years; State Legislature for two years; Allen County Commissioners for 12 years; and Allen County Council for 16 years. He was awarded the 'Sagamore of the Wabash' award. He was president and owner of Gasoline Equipment, Inc. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Mizpah Shrine, Scottish Rite, Masonic Lodge, Fort Wayne Historical Society, and American Legion Post 47. He is survived by two sons, Jack K. (Jenny) Dunifon Jr. and Rich (Diane) Dunifon, both of Fort Wayne; four grandchildren, Meredith (Phill) Parnin, Martin (Sofia) Dunifon, Chris (Aubrae) Dunifon, and Craig (Cecilia) Dunifon; and 10 great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean E., in 2000; and parents, Orlie and Gail (Sullivan) Dunifon; and brother, Eugene Dunifon. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, with Deacon James Kitchens officiating. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at the funeral home. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Memorials to Fort Wayne Historical Society. www.klaehn fahlmeltonfunerals.com
