JAMES LEMMON Obituary

JAMES E. LEMMON, 66, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, at his residence. Born May 6, 1945, in Hamilton, Ind., he was the son of the late Clay and Mary (Huff) Lemmon. He was a 1963 graduate of Hamilton High School. Jim served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He had been a mail carrier in Des Moines, Iowa for 12 years. He also worked for the Fort Wayne Newspapers, delivering the Journal Gazette. He worked as a shift supervisor for Kautex, Avilla, retiring in 1997 due to a disability. He enjoyed golfing, watching television and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his three children, Ann (Mike) Smith of Butler, Mo., Clay (Jenny) Lemmon of Fort Wayne and Tarah (Allen) Souders of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren, Lisa, Garrett, Audrey, Nathan, Aliahna, Shaleigh, Trinity, and Kyle; and one sister, Linda (Bill) Lindeman of Fort Wayne. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Louis; and three sisters, Luann, Sharon and Lucy. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 8, 2011, at Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home & Crematory, 3985 East Church St., Hamilton, Ind.. Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011, at the funeral home. Interment to follow service in Pleasant Lake Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider contributions to a charity of the donor's choice.
