JOHN C. GREUTER, 79, died Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at his home in Grabill. He was born Jan. 14, 1933 in Fort Wayne, the son of the late John C. and Maudie (Smith) Greuter, Sr. He married Mitzi (McKee) Rennecker Dec. 17, 1988 in Fort Wayne. John worked as a Test Driver Technician for Navistar International retiring in 1997 after 30 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post and the Veterans of Foreign War. He was a huge I.U. fan who loved the outdoors and his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Mitzi Greuter of Grabill; daughters, Brenda (Greg) Zern of Woodburn, Tina (Chris) Snyder of Fremont; son, Brent (Karen) Greuter of Fort Wayne; stepsons, Chris (Emily) Rennecker of Fort Wayne, Shawn (Tracey) Rennecker of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth (Pete) Garman of Corunna, Alice Thompson of St. Joe. He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Halte on April 5, 2000. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 at Carnahan-Baidinger & Walter Funeral Home, Spencerville, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Stephen Bard officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m. today, Dec. 30, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial in Leo Cemetery. Memorials to Parkview Hospice, Riley Children's Hospital and Harlan U.M. Church.
