LAURELL E. "TUNEY" LEITCH, 82, of Green Township, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at Dupont Hospital, Fort Wayne. He lived all of his life on the farm that had been in his family over 150 years. He graduated from Churubusco High School in 1948, and was an Army Korean Conflict veteran. He retired in 1981 from International Harvester after 30 years, and later worked at J.C. Manufacturing in North Webster for 13 years. He was also engaged in farming. He enjoyed farming, reading, history, and most especially his family. He was a member of Green Center United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of over 56 years, Mary Ann (Murphy) Leitch; children, Kevin (Beth) Leitch of Ajijic, Jalisco, Mexico, Carmen Fitzpatrick of Churubusco and Jeri (Todd) Crance of LaOtto; sister, Marie (Robert B.) Strater of Kendallville; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Edna (Diffendarfer) Leitch; sister, Vera Applegate; and brother, Vern Allen Leitch. Service is 11 a.m. Monday in Green Center United Methodist Church, with calling one hour prior. Pastors Nancy and Austin Fergusson officiating. Calling also from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco. Burial with military graveside rites in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. Memorials to the church or donor's choice.
