LUELLA ARLENE (HOUCK) BEHNKE, 90, formerly of Coldwater, Mich., died on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Lakeland Nursing Center, Angola. Born Jan. 26, 1924, in Napoleon, Ohio, she was she was a daughter of Bertram Vernon and Mable Josephine (Whistler) Houck. She managed the House of Fabrics, Fort Wayne for 20 years. She married Bernard William "Bernie" Behnke on June 7, 1942, in Wauseon, Ohio; he survives. She was a member of Coldwater United Methodist Church. Also surviving are one son, James C. (Roxann) Behnke of Coldwater, Mich.; two daughters, Cora Lee (Jerry) Everett of Lebanon, Ky. and Marcia Louise Bonta of Spencerville, Ind.; nine grandchildren, Christopher Behnke, Darlene Behnke, Joseph Bonta, Julie Bonta Lowden, Lisa Bonta Laird, Amy Everett Lelli, Sally Everett Walley, Denise Everett, and Glen Everett; 25 great-grandchildren; and four great- great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Virgil, Roy and Ray Houck; and two sisters, Josephine Amy Knepley and Doris Mae Altman. Service is 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Angola, with visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. Pastors Steve and Dave Altman officiating. A private burial is Monday, Feb. 3, 2014, at Wauseon Union Cemetery, Wauseon, Ohio. Memorials may be given to Coldwater United Methodist Church. Services entrusted to H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, Angola.
