SISTER M. LEONORE COUSINO, 96, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Presence Sacred Heart Home, 515 N. Main St., Avilla. Sister Leonore was born in Sandusky, Ohio and raised in Avilla, Ind., entering the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart, Frankfort, Ill., in 1932. Sister taught at St. Charles Borromeo School in Fort Wayne for 38 of these years as well as at other schools in Illinois and Indiana. Surviving are her brother, Donald of Garrett; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2014, at Presence Sacred Heart Home, Avilla, with visitation two hours prior and rosary at 10:45 a.m. Monsignor John N. Suelzer presiding. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, 2014, at the funeral home. Preferred memorials may be made to the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart. I taught with her at St. Charles as Sister Karen Ann. She was such a great Sister and teacher. I have so many fond memories! May she rest in Gods love.

Sorry to hear of her passing. I remember visiting with her when me & my sister visited her family in Avilla. She had a full life teaching the children at St. Charles & doing God's work. She will be missed. Thoughts & prayers are with you.
