MAXWELL TINKEL, 92, of Fort Wayne, died on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born June 23, 1920, in Bluffton, he was a son of Homer J. Tinkel and Gladys (Mosure). He was a 1938 graduate of North Side High School; served in the U.S. Army; and was a Finish Carpenter with Affordable Homes by John Pelkington, retiring in 1982. He volunteered at Parkview Hospital. Surviving are his wife of 71 years, Ada A. (Schie) Tinkel of Fort Wayne; sons, Max J. (Anne) Tinkel of Fort Wayne and Gary E. (Susan) Tinkel of Bonita Springs, Fla.; grandchildren, Chad (Jodi) Tinkel and Mindy (Stephen) Hess, both of Bryan, Ohio, and Sarah Decker of Fort Wayne; and great-grandchildren, Morgan and Maci Tinkel, Gracie Decker, Nathan and Molly Hess. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Ray and Everett; and sister, Evaline Tinkel. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Sunday in the Bohn Chapel at Lindenwood Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road. Preferred memorials to the donor's choice.
