ROBERT C. COLBY, 85, of Fremont, died on Wednesday, April 20, 2011, in Angola. Born April 23, 1925, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late George & Esther (Johnson) Colby. He was the retired owner of the Fremont Drug Store. He was a 1942 graduate of North Side High School, Fort Wayne, and and graduated from Purdue University School of Pharmacy. He was a World War II Army veteran; member of Fremont American Legion Cassel Post 257, Northeastern Masonic Lodge 210 F & AM, Pokagon Shrine Club of Angola, Mizpah Shrine of Fort Wayne, and Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne. Surviving are two daughters, Nancy (Tim) Meyer of West Lafayette and Patricia Colby of Bradenton, Fla.; two sons, Christopher (Ruth) Colby of Fremont and John (Luanne) Colby of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. He was also preceded in death his wife, Mary Frances Colby. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at Peace Lutheran Church, Fremont. Visitation is from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2011, at Beams Funeral Home, Fremont, with Masonic service at 7 p.m. Burial in Lakeside Cemetery, Fremont.
