ROBERT PENCE Obituary

ROBERT E. PENCE, 73, of Fort Wayne, passed away at his residence, Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012. He was born on July 1, 1939, in Fort Wayne a son of Herman E. and Allene E. (Baum-gartner) Pence; both parents preceded him in death. A 1957 graduate of Bluffton High School, he served in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1966. He then worked at General Electric in Fort Wayne for 21 years as a toolmaker in the production control department and later retired from Lincoln Life after seven years of service as a computer technician. He had been attending Trinity Episcopal Church in Fort Wayne. He had a great passion for urban photography and also enjoyed collecting antique J.I. Case tractors. Surviving are two brothers, David A. Pence of Bluffton, and John F. Pence of Austin, Texas; along with six nieces and nephews. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at the Goodwin Memorial Chapel, 3220 E. State Road 124, Bluffton, Ind., with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Betty Frolick officiating. Visitation also from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Bluffton. The Bluffton American Legion Post 111 in conjunction with the United States Air Force Honor Guard will perform military graveside rites. Memorial contributions may be given to A.I.D.S. Task Force. Online condolences can be made at www.theGMCfamily.com

Dear Pence Family, We are neighbors of Bob's, living across the street in the Archbishop Noll home. Bob came over and greeted us the day after we moved in.. in 1989, and we enjoyed his company on so many occasions. He was a good neighbor, and a friend. We will miss talking with him about life in Fort Wayne, and we will miss his beautiful Christmas cards. Our sympathies...
