ROBERT MARTIN HINE, 95, died on Monday, April 22, 2013, at Coventry Meadows. He was a lifetime resident of Jefferson Township Whitley county, son of the late Gustave and Myra Hine. Robert worked at Coil Eng., in Roanoke and Dana Fort Wayne for 33 1/2 years. He liked gardening, mowing and the Colts, Indiana basketball, and senior tours. Robert served in the U.S. Army 4 1/2 years in the 192nd Headquarters company and 38th Cyclone division receiving the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and other metals from New Guinea and Philippines. He was a member of American Legion Post 160 Roanoke and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Surviving are his wife, Marcene (McCaughey) Hine; daughter, Cheryl Hine; son, Edward (Cindy) Hine; grandson, Kevin Hine; sister, Genevieve Fraizer; brother, John (Evelyn) Hine; and a host of nieces and nephews. Service is 11 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 641 N. Main St., Roanoke, with calling one hour prior to service. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Preferred memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund.
