RUTH McDONALD SACKETT, 91, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 in Fort Wayne, Ind. "She was a lov ing wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother." She was a Sarah Coventry salesperson, and enjoyed doing ceramics for 50 years. In the early 1950's, she was a contestant on the T.V. program, "What's My Line" and stumped the panel as a "Mud Hen" (one who works with ceramics). Born June 9, 1921 in Akron, Ohio a daughter of George W. and Ruth Nichols McDonald, she was the youngest of three children. She and her husband, Charles, married in 1942 and lived the majority of their lives in Tallmadge, Ohio before retiring and moving to Sun City West, Ariz. in 1983. In 2002 they moved to Fort Wayne to be closer to family. Surviving are her children, Les (Marlene) Sackett of Fort Wayne, Charles (Cheryl) Sackett of Tampa, Fla., Claudia (Chris) Jacobsen of Albuquerque, N. M.; brother, Wilson (Mary) McDonald of Phoenix, Ariz.; ten grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents, George and Ruth McDonald; sister, Leona (Tex) Reeves. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2012 at Christ's Community Church, 10616 Liberty Mills Road, Fort Wayne, Ind. with calling one hour prior. Rev. Dale Matthews officiating. Calling also from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road. Memorials to Christ's Community Church.
