STEVEN "STEVE" ZIMMERMAN, 59, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at his home. Born in Kendall ville, Steve was the owner and operator of Zimmerman Excava ting for many years. His work ethic and love for his job started at a young age and continued throughout his life. He was a member of Colonial Oaks Golf Club. He enjoyed NASCAR, spending time in Phoenix, but most of all he loved being a grandpa. "He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and his kind heart was always willing to lend a hand and help those in need. Steve will be missed by many." Surviving are his loving wife of 11 years, Cheri Zimmerman of Fort Wayne; daughter, Stacy (Brian) Natkin of El Paso, Texas; grandchildren, Zack, Austyn, Ashlynn, Blair, Zoey, Jordan, Mackenzie, Lauren, and Brock; siblings, Kay (Steve) Saunders and Denny (Diana) Zimmerman, both of Fort Wayne, Kenny Zimmerman of Buckeye, Ariz., Connie (Jim) Hallenbeck of Coldwater, Mich., Carolyn (Doug) McKinney and Phil Zimmerman, both of Fort Wayne; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Mary Lou Zimmerman; and son, Michael Shane Zimmerman. Service is 11 a.m. Monday, March 18, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2013, at the funeral home. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
