THOMAS D. McLAUGHLIN III, 69, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012, at Manor House Assisted Living, Antwerp. Tom fought a long courageous battle with cancer and is now in Heaven with God. Born in Lima, Ohio, he worked as a sales manager with Research Institute of America for 25 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Harley Owner's Group. He served 25 years as CFO of Board of Directors for Carlsbad Inn. He developed the old Antwerp School into The Manor House Assisted Living and Essen House Restaurant. He loved fishing in Cabo, traveling, and his family, including his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings. Surviving are his wife, Sharon A. McLaughlin of Fort Wayne; daughter, Maura (Brant) McCarthy of Los Angeles; sons, Darrin McLaughlin of Eugene, Brian McLaughlin of Fort Wayne, and Thomas D. McLaughlin IV of Los Angeles; daughter, Caitlin McLaughlin of Indianapolis; granddaughter, Caila McCarthy; grandsons, Riley McLaughlin and Avery McCarthy; and granddaughter, Samantha McLaughlin; sister, Margo (Don) Sullivan of Cincinnati; brothers, Larry (Toby) McLaughlin of Dayton and David McLaughlin of Lima; and sister, Maureen (Greg) Howard of Columbus. She was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret B. (Nan) McLaughlin; and father, Thomas D. McLaughlin Jr. Mass of Christian Burial is noon Friday, April 27, 2012, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Fr. Anthony Steinacker officiating. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with a Vigil service at 8 p.m. Burial is 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, in Woodlawn Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
