RUTH J. SPARKS, 82, of Fort Wayne, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009, at Lutheran Hospital. Born July 27, 1926, in Con-nersville, Ind., she was the daughter of Clifford Morgan and Marjory (Whiteman). She was a homemaker and member of North Highlands Church of Christ. Surviving are five daughters, Judy (John) Dunlap of New Haven, Bonnie (Alex) Creech, Barbara (John) Butler, Beverly (Gregory) Cook, and Joan Crocker, all of Fort Wayne; one son, Phillip (Janet) Sparks of Urbana; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard "Duke" Sparks; and one sister, Marjorie Koverman. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Services, 2403 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling from 11 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Randy Myers officiating. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery. Preferred memorials to Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
