HELEN J. MEYER, 83, of Decatur, died on Saturday, March 10, 2012, at Lutheran Life Vil lages, in Fort Wayne. Born Jan. 23, 1929, in Adams County, she was a daughter of the late Florian and Bertha (Ulman) Geimer. On May 13, 1950, she married Robert E. Meyer. She was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church, a longtime member of St. Mary's Study Club the Women's Auxiliary of American Legion and Ladies Fraternal Order of Police as Treasurer. She is retired from the State of Indiana as a Meat Inspector. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Meyer of Decatur; two sons, David E. (Kathy) Meyer of Yoder and Eric A. "Keebie" (Tammy) Meyer of Decatur; a daughter, Linda J. (Kent) Daniels of Decatur; a sister, Naomi Lengerich of Dayton, Ohio; six grandchildren, Nathan and Michael Meyer, Ashley (Meyer) Shifferly, Scott Meyer, Rachael Nowak and Kristi (Daniels) Lengerich; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylee McCann and Landon Danels. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael R. Meyer; two brothers; and two sisters. Prayer service is 11:20 a.m. Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial noon Thursday, March 22, 2012, at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church. Father David Voors officiating. Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2012, with reciting of the holy rosary at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
