JAMES AUSTIN STAUFFER, went home to his heavenly Father on Friday, April 20, 2012, with his wife of 44 years, Susie; children, Candy Mulcahy, Mark Shadowen and Melinda Carter; and grandchildren, Sean Mulcahy, Colin Hayes and Dani Carter at his side. "Jim was our loving husband, father and grandfather." Born in Indiana, he dutifully served in the Navy. After the Navy, he graduated from Indiana University and began a successful career in the retail textile industry. He was a 33rd degree Mason and a member of the Ararat Shrine and the Royal Order of the Jesters. He played the trumpet throughout his life with jazz bands, Dixieland music with the 'Ararat Rockets', and with various other artists who loved and appreciated making music. He also loved gardening and being outdoors, hiking in Arizona where he and Susie vacationed at a home frequently, and spending time fellowshipping with family and friends. He is also survived by his sister, Lois Algueseva; and niece Abigail Fimmen. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Denise Stauffer; and parents Christian and Hazel Stauffer. Arrangements by D.W.
