DR. ROGER ETHAN ISH, 92, died on Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne. Born Feb. 20, 1920, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of Dr. Ethan and Mary (Sidwell) Ish. He was a World War II and Korean War veteran serving in the Army and the Navy. After serving in the military, he worked as a dentist in Waterloo until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of Auburn First United Methodist Church and former member of the Waterloo Masonic Lodge, Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and Waterloo Lions Club. He married Jane Stingle on Jan. 12, 1943, in Indianapolis; she died on Febr. 23, 2007. He is survived by two sons and daughter, Robert (Eilene) Ish of Carbondale, Colo., Barbara (Gary) Henderson of Auburn and David Ish of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Naomi (Mark) Safford of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Dave) Casper, Jason Reynolds, Joshua (Angie) Henderson, and Kelly Ish; and four great-grandchildren, Zachary Casper, Logan Casper, Landon Henderson, and Dylan Ish. A Celebration of Life service and burial will be held at a later date at Waterloo Cemetery.
