RUTH MARGARET ESTHER KOLLMORGEN MOSEL, of Lutheran Life Villages died on Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012 at St. Josephs Hospital in Fort Wayne. Born on December 31, 1921 in Cincinnati, Ohio the daughter of Martin and Ida Kollmorgen. She graduated from Hughes High School in Cincinnati in 1940. Attended The Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in Cincinnati, Ohio and received her R. N. degree on September 27,1943. She enlisted in the Women's Army Nurse Corps in January 1945 and was honorably discharged on March 1946. She married Theodor Karl Mosel in August 1946. She worked as a private duty nurse and held the position of Assistant Director of Nursing at Lutheran Life Villages. She continued her nursing education by attending Defiance College where she received a B.S. Degree in 1977. She retired in 1987. Nursing was her passion and she cared deeply for all her patients. She is survived by a son, James T. (Joan) Mosel of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; daughter, Linda Mosel of San Deigo, Calif.; and son Fred of Minneapolis, Minn.; granddaughter, Ann (John) Laverty; and great-granddaughters, Megan and Emily Laverty; brother, Martin Kollmorgen, Pell City, Ala. and sisters Naomi Johnson of St. Louis, Mo. and Elsie Mathes, Cincinnati, Ohio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodor in 1970; her parents; and a sister Gertrude Schettler. Service is 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012 at Lutheran Life Villages, 6701 South Anthony Boulevard, Fort Wayne. Interment will be at Covington Memorial Gardens, 8408 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Ind. 46804. A memorial fund has been established at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fort Wayne and Lutheran Life Villages.
