DR. DAVID ROBERT KASSING, 51, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, as a result of a tragic car accident. Born March 22, 1961, in Fort Riley, Kan., he was the son of Troy and Bob Kassing. After graduating from Brebeuf High School in 1979, and attended Denison University. He graduated in 1983 with a degree in Economics, having studied a semester at the London School of Economics. He then shifted course, not wanting a career in business, and went on to receive his medical degree from Indiana University in 1991. He spent his entire career with Northside Anesthesia at St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis. "David was devoted to God, his wife, children and family, mission trips to Africa, teaching children's Bible study at Lifepointe Church, music, cars, and a love for the great outdoors were additional passions. He will be remembered for his zest for life, sense of humor, selflessness, love of others and always going above and beyond. He centered his life on others, not only those closest and dearest to him, but also those he happened to meet along the way." He is survived by his loving wife, Sherry (Baker); their 4 year old twins, Luke and Sophia; his sons, Jordan and Matthew; parents, Troy and Bob; sisters, Lynne Lundy and Susan Sveen; father and mother-in-law, Junior and Sharon Baker; and nieces and nephews, Kirsten, Carter, Madison, Erik, Eric, Jordan and Jimmy. A celebration of David's life is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at St. Christopher's Episcopal Church, 1402 W. Main St., Carmel, Ind., with visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. Visitation also from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, at the church. Entombment in Hamilton Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Ministries for Children at Lifepointe Church, 12770 Hamilton Crossing Blvd., Carmel, IN 46032. Help us keep David's memory alive for his children.
