ESTHER ELIZABETH TEPKER, 97, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Ritz Villa, Mitchell, Ontario. Born on a farm near Evansville, Ind. and graduated from school in Evansville. She lived in Anderson for eight years caring for two nephews whose mother had died. She then moved to Indianapolis and was matron of a children's home where she met and married Rev. Erwin Tepker of Fort Wayne. They came to Canada in 1963. She was active in church work wherever she lived and volunteered in brail for 40 years in ministry for Concord Publishing House, St. Louis, Mich. She enjoyed quilting until the age of 95 years. She is survived by her two sons, Paul (Carol) Tepker and John (Charlene) Tepker; and five grandchildren, Mychal, Jaimee, David, Jason, and Julia. She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Erwin L. Tepker on March 28, 1989; parents; six brothers; and three sisters. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 115 Cambria St., Stratford, Ontario. The Rev. Timothy Teuscher officiating. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Nov. 20, 2012, W. G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron St., Stratford, Ontario. Interment in Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, Ohio.
