EDNA LOIS GWALTNEY, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community. She was born in Fort Branch, Ind., on Aug. 14, 1922. She was married on Aug. 21, 1949 to Ethan E. Gwaltney. She earned a Master's Degree in Education from I.P.F.W. She was a second grade school teacher with Fort Wayne Community Schools for 20 years retiring in 1987. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church where after retirement she became more active with their Bible Study Fellowship. She also volunteered for hospice and was a reading tutor. Surviving are her children, Marilyn (Dick) Barnes of Monument, Colo., Larry Gwaltney of Castleberry, Fla., Cheryl (Bob) Sedlmeyer, Nancy (Kelly) Glenn both of Fort Wayne; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, Walter and Octavia McIntire; husband, Ethan Gwaltney; and sister, Geraldine Camp. Service is 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue with calling one hour prior, Rev. Steven Roper officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Fort Branch, Ind. Memorials may be made to Faith Baptist Church.
