CLEMENTINE (OXLEY) DYKES, 100, of Fort Wayne, died on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne. She entered this life on May 15, 1912, in Fairview, Ind., as the daughter of the late Otto W. and Effie May (Campbell) Oxley. She was raised in Switzerland County, Ind., until the age of 14, where she attended school. She married James W. Dykes on May 5, 1943, in South Carolina. She was employed at General Electric from 1950 to 1977 and at Miller's Ice Cream, Fort Wayne. She had resided in Cincinnati, Ohio for several years moving to Fort Wayne in 1948. She was a member of the Elex Club with General Electric, the Eagles Lodge and Calvary United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne. She will be remembered for her love of crocheting, sewing, gardening, and working in the yard. She is survived by daughter, Patricia A. (Doff) Trolio of Fort Wayne; son, James W. (Lynda) Dykes Jr. of Fort Wayne; 11 grandchildren, Doff Trolio Jr., Patricia Brenn, Stefanie FyFe, Melanie Coate, Hilary Hughes, James Trolio, Kerry Christie, James Dykes, Temple Cronkhite, Samuel Dykes, and Elizabeth Walker; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James W. Dykes; and sister, Gertrude Bennett. Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry St., Vevay, Ind., with. visitation from noon to 2 p.m. Pastor Bill Maginn and Larry Lutz officiating. Interment will follow service in Vevay Cemetery, Vevay, Ind. Memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church. Cards are available at the funeral home.
