BARBARA A. HUEBNER, 86, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, 12 p.m., at home surrounded by her family. Born July 14, 1926, in Auburn, she was a daughter of the late Charles A. Weibel and Alma S. (Schnitker). She graduated from South Side High School in 1944. Although retired, she had worked at L.S. Ayers, in Fort Wayne for 17 years and Indiana Bell as a telephone operator. She was a former member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. Surviving are her husband of 66 years, Robert K. Huebner of Fort Wayne; son, Mark Huebner of Indianapolis; daughters, Shelley (Ted) Pulver of Hoagland, Sharon (Kenneth) Herron of Fort Wayne and Jennifer (Kermit) Boleyn of Orland, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews including: nephew, Chuck Bonheur of Pearl River, N.Y. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Bonheur, Marjorie Albridge and Betty Rinker; and brother, Ronald Weibel. Her hobbies included above all, taking care of her flower gardens and feeding and watching the birds. She was very respectful of nature and wouldn't even hurt a spider in her home, but would gently pick it up and place it outside. She loved all kind of sports, especially the Chicago Bulls when Michael Jordan was playing and also tennis - she would go to all lengths not to miss the Tennis Open - she also would never miss an episode of Survivor or The Bachelor. Her family meant everything to her and she lived for Christmas. She started decorating her home in October and her tree was adorned with over 1000 ornaments. She also loved to travel. Funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, with calling one hour prior. Pastor Kathy Haller officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Preferred memorials to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana; visiting Nurse & Hospice Home; or Trinity Lutheran Church.
