EILEEN NATALIE FURTADO del GROSSO, 80, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, surrounded by the family she dearly and deeply loved. Born and raised in Taunton, Massachusetts, Eileen experienced "the best childhood, ever." In 1952 she met and married Jim del Grosso, a dashing Navy serviceman. He survives her, along with their four daughters, "who consider their mother's selfless love, common-sense wisdom, and family loyalty the epitome of motherhood", Cher (David) Stinson, Lynne (Doug) Ford, Carol (Mike Murphy) Brenner, and Diane (Matt) Stinson; nine grandchildren, Christin (Ryan) Hamman, Candace Dean, Caitlyn Dean, J.R. (Jeni) Ford, Jesse (Molly Hoeppner) Brenner, Brandon (Tierni) Brenner, Brittany (Dustin) Ashby, Natalie Williams, and Dalton Stinson; and ten great-grandchildren, Jayden, Aleena and Beckett Hamman, Elijah Reincke Ford, Kylie and Jaxson Brenner, Breann and MaKenzie Kelley, Bishop Baker, and Piper Brenner. She worked as a clerk at the Washington township assessor's office, a hostess at the Elks Country Club (B.P.O.E #155) and Club Olympia, and as bookkeeper for J.J.R. Corporation. She loved dancing, bowling (she was an Indiana state women's doubles' bowling champion), and the ocean - but not as much as she loved "her handsome, white-haired husband, four girls and family." Calling is from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at D. O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, 5910 Homestead Road, "to bless and thank them for their tender and compassionate care of their beloved Eileen."
