EUGENE E. "GENE" HOFFMAN, 71, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Monday, Feb. 25, 2013. Born Sept. 6, 1941, he was a son of the late Herman F. and Frances C. (Land stoffer) Hoffman. He retired from Dana after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church and the NRA. Surviving family include siblings, Mary Johnson of Yoder and Ken Hoffman of Ossian; nephews and nieces, Mark (Deanne) Hoffman, Kathy (Jerry) Voirol, Cheryl (Ken) Bloom, Tim (Rose) Johnson, David (Kelly) Johnson, Tina Hoffman (Bob Burnside), Brenda (Dan) Rupright, Chris (Tonya) Hoffman, and Peggy (Bill) Smith; 18 great-nieces and great-nephews; and one great-great-niece. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Arnold J. Hoffman. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 14623 Bluffton Road, Yoder. Visitation is from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, with Rosary recited at 7:45 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery.
