RUSSELL L. "BEANIE" CLABAUGH, 88, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013, 1:38 a.m., at Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne. During his early years, he drove a truck for several years and later owned and operated Hillcrest Texaco in Fort Wayne for 15 years and most recently was an auto mechanic for Hires Auto Parts for 10 years, retiring in 1986. He was a past post commander of the American Legion Post 296 of Fort Wayne and was a life member of the Waynedale V.F.W. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was born on Nov. 21, 1924, in Huntington, he was a son of Russell and Verda (Rush) Clabaugh. Survivors include two sons, Robert (Carol) Clabaugh of Warren and Michael Clabaugh of Andrews; a daughter, Cheryl L. Agee of Kingsport, Tenn.; a sister, Judy Walters of Warsaw; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Hood; five brother; six sisters; and a grandson, Rusty Elston. There will be a private family service at a later date.
