EDWARD B. RICE, 81, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving wife and family. Born in Fort Wayne, Edward was graduated of South Side High School and attended Michigan State University and Indiana University. He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Edward was Executive Vice President and Chairman of Lupke Rice Associates and Past President of Rice Ford Lincoln, Warsaw. He was a member and on the finance committee of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Arcola and member of the Defense Orientation Conference Association, and Sycamore Hills Golf Club. He was past Board member of Saint Francis University, Community Harvest Food Bank of Northeast Indiana, Anthony Wayne Corporation and Wayne Hardware. He was past Vice President of Wawasee Property Owners Association; and was a Wawasee Lake Patrol Deputy Sheriff. He was very active in Indiana and local Republican Politics, was awarded the 'Sagamore Of The Wabash' award, and was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Surviving is his wife of 55 years, Maryellen (McKeeman) Rice of Fort Wayne; sons, Stanford E. (Susan) Rice of Fort Wayne, Daniel B.(Tina) Rice and John D. (Tricia) Rice, both of Warsaw; sister, Cynthia Hogan of Bloomington; and grandchildren, Alexandra, William, Michael, Samuel, Hannah, Daniel, Elizabeth, and Christina. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Wilke B. and Georgiana Rice. Mass of Christian Resurrection is 11 a.m. Friday, May 17, 2013, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Arcola, 12305 Arcola Road, with calling one hour prior. Memorial calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Entombment in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Community Harvest Food Bank, The Edward B.
