RAYMOND L. LOOMIS, 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at Coving ton Manor Nursing Center, Fort Wayne. Born in Deerfield, Ohio, Raymond worked in maintenance at Canterbury School for 25 years. He was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Raymond also served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Loomis of Fort Wayne; son, Lowell "Sam" (Gina) Loomis of Fort Wayne; daughter, Malinda "Lindy" (Allen Meredith) Eversole of New Haven; daughter, Lori Munding of Fort Wayne; brothers, Glenn (Mary) Loomis of Dalton, Ohio and Walter (Evelyn) Loomis of Osceola, Ind.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harlow and Vernice Loomis; and sisters, Twila Abbuhl and Dorothy Stanton. Service is 2 p.m. Saturday, June 29, 2013, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2417 Getz Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 5and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2013, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Canterbury School.
