BETTIE LOUISE (BABB) WILLIAMS, 69, passed away on Monday, Nov. 4, 2013. Bettie graduated from Central High School in 1962. She moved to Omaha, Neb. to attend Omaha University where she met and married Terrance Williams. They relocated back to Fort, Wayne in 1968. Bettie enjoyed working as a nursery school teacher. She also worked at Fort Wayne Wire & Die and later at Essex Wire until her retirement. Throughout her life Bettie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. This included many years as an avid league bowler. Bettie accepted Christ at an early age and was an active long-time member at Turner Chapel AME Church. While Bettie experienced a number of chronic illnesses later in life, she showed strength and dignity throughout. Surviving are her sisters, Wilma Johnson and Dana Hatch; daughters, Gina (Mark) Felton of Edina, Minn. and Kimberly (Gary) Williams; son, Chad (LaShawnda) Williams; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; mothers-in-law, Goldie White and Johnnie Williams; brother-in-law, Tracy (Kitty) White; sister-in-law, Shawn Williams; and a host of other special relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Terrance Williams; parents, Willie G. and Haywood Babb Sr; sisters, Letha Ann Babb and Hazel Alexander; one brother, Haywood Babb Jr. Funeral service is noon Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Turner Chapel AME Church, with visitation two hours prior. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Carmichael Funeral Service. In lieu of flowers, donations may also be made in Bettie Williams' memory at
