EDWARD F. MARBACH, 81, of Berne, died on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, 10:54 a.m., at Swiss Village Nursing Center, Berne. Born June 19, 1932, in Adams County, Ind., he was a son of the late Adolf F. Marbach and Viola C. (Grote) Marbach. He married Joyce Colleen Lobsiger on Dec. 19, 1954; she passed away on March 1, 2009. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, in Decatur, Union Township Lion's Club, and American Legion Post #43 of Decatur. Edward served his country in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1951. He retired in 1997 from Dolco Packaging with15 years of service and was also a lifelong dairy farmer. He also owned and operated E & M Gun Shop from 1973 to 1985. Surviving are his son, Michael E. (Billie) Marbach of Decatur; daughter, Janet S. Boeckmann of Fort Wayne; sons, John F. (LeAnn) Marbach of Decatur and David W. (Jerry Stinnett) Marbach of Fort Wayne; daughter, Susan J. (Joe) Callow of Decatur; son, James R. (Tina) Marbach of Berne; brothers, Herbert (Lorna) Marbach and Richard (HelenWitte) Marbach, both of Decatur; sisters, Edith Niermann of Van Wert, Ohio and Edna Mesing of Decatur; 13 grandchildren, Dani (Ty) Siebenaler, Eric Hartsough, Sarah Boeckmann, Will Boeckmann, Seth Boeckmann, Meghan Marbach, Amanda Marbach, Luke Marbach, Taylor Callow, Ben Callow, Jim Marbach, Boaz Marbach, and Sylvia Marbach; and six great-grandchildren, Gail Siebenaler, Travis Siebenaler, Elizabeth Hartsough, Lilly Hartsough, Angelise Siebenaler, and Michael Siebenaler. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Florence Bulmahn, Norma Mueller and Linda Brenneke. Service is 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 10, 2014, at Zion Lutheran Church, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Phil Phifer and the Rev. Robert Becker officiating. Visitation also from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home. Burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, with miltary graveside service conducted by the American Legion Post 43 Color Guard of Adams County.
