FREDRICK RUSSELL "RUSS" EPLETT, 69, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital. Born in High Point, N.C., Fredrick worked as a V.P. of Engineering with Carrier/ United Technologies and Emerson Electric for 38 years, retiring in 2005. He attended Trinity Episcopal Church and was a member of the choir, also a Tenor and served on the Board of Directors of the Philharmonic Chorus; Vice President and Governance of Heartland Chamber Chorale; Board of Directors for SCORE. Surviving are his wife, Janice Howe Eplett; sons, Jeffrey (fiance Renee Alexander) Eplett of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Christopher (Jennifer Jumper) Eplett of Natick, Mass.; brother, Richard (Mary) Eplett of Wimauma, Fla.; mother-in-law, Winifred Howe of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Russell and Gladys Irene Eplett. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at Trinity Episcopal Church, 611 W. Berry St. with calling one hour prior. Father Thomas Hansen officiating. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014 at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Churubusco, Ind. Memorials may be made to the Fort Wayne Philharmonic Chorus or Donor's Choice.
