CARL V. BULTEMEIER, 86, of Hoagland, die on Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, 1:45 p.m., at his residence following a short illness. Born Dec. 11, 1927, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Victor Bulte meier and Wilhelmina (Selking) Bultemeier. He married Dorothy Lepper on Sept. 2, 1950, in New Haven. Carl served his country in the United States Army during World War II. Carl was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen; the Heritage Lions Club; and Hoagland Area Advancement Association (HAAA). Carl was retired from the Hoagland Volunteer Fire Dept. after 35 years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 420, in Monroeville. Carl retired in February of 1981 from International Harvester Company after 37 years of service. Following his retirement, he had worked part-time at Madison Cabinet. Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Bultemeier of Hoagland; sons, Ronald C. (Judy) Bultemeier and Keith A. (Joan) Bultemeier, both of Monroeville; daughter, Cheryl A. Sicks of New Haven; sister, Marie Wietfeldt of Monroeville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. He was also preceded in death by a sister in infancy. Service is 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at St. John Lutheran Church-Bingen, with visitation one hour prior. The Rev. Peter Brock officiating. Visitation also from 1 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at Zwick & Jahn Funeral Home, Decatur. Burial in St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery-Bingen.
