THELMA RING, 81, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014, at Emeritus of Fort Wayne. Born in Warsaw, Thelma earned a Masters Degree from University of Saint Francis. She was a RN for 50 years with multiple hospitals before retiring in 1990. She was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and the Critical Care Nursing Association. Thelma enjoyed her Pepsi, shopping, crocheting, reading, playing cards, and spending time with her family. Surviving are her children, Richard (Alaina) Ring of Auburn, Sue (David) Garris of Fort Wayne, Kathryn Lynn Lanier of San Jose, Calif., Daniel (Linda) Ring of Dade City, Fla., and Timothy Ring of Los Angeles, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Laura Hathaway - Minter of Rockford, Ill., Mary Whisler of Bradenton, Fla. and June Kramer of Rochester. She was preceded in death by father, Carl Carrothers; mother, Rhoda (Bacon) Brown; husband, Richard O. Ring; brother, Bill Carrothers; and sisters, Lennis Wise and Gayle Hurst. Service is 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2417 Getz Road, with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Dr. Derek Weber officiating.
