ELLA THOMAS, 95, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Uniontown, Ala., passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014. She retired from Inter-national Harvester after 34 years of service and was a faithful member of Pilgrim Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Lenore Dixie (Mickey) and Johnnie M. King; a son, Dudley (Laverne) Thomas; sisters, Bessie Lapsley and Luevina (Wiley) Lymon; a brother, J.C. (Maude) Lapsley; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dudley Thomas; parents, John and Lucy Lapsley; a grandson, Jason King; brothers, Cremo, Moses, Offie, John, Osie, and Isiah Lapsley; and sisters, Margaret Easley, Mary Haywood and Estella Johnson. Service is noon Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Pilgrim Baptist Church, 1331 Gay St., with calling one hour prior. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
