JAMES A. REYNOLDS, passed away on Wednesday, April, 16, 2014. Born Oct. 17, 1921, in New Haven, Conn., he was a son of Charles F. and Lucy V. (Graham) Reynolds. James served honorably in the United States Navy during World War II. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Indiana Tech in 1949. He married Marie C. Obringer in 1949; she preceded him in death on Aug. 8, 2006. He retired from General Electric in 1986. He was active in Boy Scouts for many years earning many awards including the Silver Beaver and the Saint George for his work in scouting with the Catholic youth. James was an active and faithful member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, American Legion 330, and Knights of Columbus 456. Surviving are daughters, Deborah A. (Michael) Evard of New Haven and Susan M. (Irvin) Arnold of Fort Wayne; son, Phillip J. Reynolds of Boulder, Colo.; brothers, Joseph of Hamden, Conn. and George of North Haven, Conn.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and one grandchild. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Fr. James Kumbakkeel officiating. Calling also from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, April 20, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne.
