PHILIP A. STOUDER, 93, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Huntington, died on Tuesday, March 29, 2014, 7 a.m., at Coventry Meadows, Fort Wayne. Born Nov. 20, 1920, in Huntington County, he was the son of John and Alice (Stephan) Stouder. Philip graduated from Polk Township High School and married Maxine D. Bugher on Nov. 27, 1941, in New Castle, Ind. He was an engineer and served in the United States Army in the Philippines during World War II in the Railroad Battalion 749. He worked for Penn-Central Railroad for 40 years. Philip is survived by his wife of 72 years, Maxine D. Stouder of Fort Wayne; one daughter, Sondra (Guy) Carter of Columbia, Mo.; two grandchildren, Kristina (David) Owsley of Independence, Mo. and Brent (Erin) Carter of Ypsilanti, Mich.; nine great-grandchildren; and one brother-in-law, Dick (Peg) Bugher of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents, seven brothers, two sisters, and one grandson, Bryan Carter. Family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, May 2, 2014, at Bailey-Love Mortuary, 35 West Park Drive, Huntington. Private graveside services and burial will immediately follow in Andrews Riverside Cemetery, in Huntington County, with Pastor David Owsley officiating.
