JOYCE M. SUMMERS, 79, of Fort Wayne and longtime winter resident of Lakeland, Fla., died on Saturday, May 3, 2014, in Lakeland, Fla. She was the daughter of Rock and Josedna Prescott. Joyce worked in food service with Fort Wayne Community Schools for 29 years, retiring in 1997. She was a longtime member of Taylor Chapel U.M.C. in Fort Wayne and current member at Trinity U.M.C. in Lakeland. Joyce was an avid shuffleboard and card player but her first love was her family. Surviving are her daughter, Roxanne (Milt) Yoquelet of Fort Wayne; son, Marc (Laura) Summers of Panama City, Panama; two brothers, Dale and Philip Prescott; sister, Phyllis Collins; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Gene Summers; daughter, Jacqueline; brothers, Robert, Reuben, Charles, Carl "Jack" and James "Tuck"; and sisters, Imogene Raszkowski, Helen Blackford and Joan Wilcox. Service is 2 p.m. Saturday, May, 10, 2014, at Pleasant Hill Church, Union City, Ind., with calling one hour prior. The Rev. Mark Clough officiating. Calling also from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 9, 2014, at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne. Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Union City, Ind.
