EMILY L. HOLUBES, 96, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Parkview Memorial Hospital. She was born on Aug. 27, 1917, in Spring Valley, Ill. Emily was married for 47 years to John M. Holubes, until his passing in 2000. John and Emily wintered in Green Valley, Ariz. for many years. She was a Girl Scout leader and camp nurse at Camp Potawatomi, in Knox, Ind. Emily was a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis in Stevens Point, Wis. before becoming a Registered Nurse at Grant Hospital, in Chicago. Survivors include her daughter, Kathy Hazelett of Fort Wayne; grandson, Josh Doehla of Fort Wayne; sister, Marie Dziadowicz of Schererville, Ind.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mathew and Bernice (Dobel) Tyczkowski of East Chicago, Ind.; and seven siblings. Mass is 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, 1702 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior in the church gathering space. Visitation is from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2014, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne, with a Rosary service beginning at 7 p.m. Burial will take place at a later date at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Calumet City, Ill.
