SANDRA K. HOBBS, 56, of Fort Wayne, died on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at her home. Born in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Marjorie Hobbs. She was a member of Wood burn United Methodist Church and was the current president of the U.M.W.A. Sandy was a Heritage High School graduate. She worked for Eagle Picher Plastics as an executive secretary and purchasing agent for 20 years; then was currently working as an administrative assistant with Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home for the last 10 years. "Sandy's battle with breast cancer did not slow her down. She was a volunteer for
and helped anyone who needed. Her zest of life is what will be remembered along with the love that she showed her family and friends." She is survived by her brothers, Richard (LuAnn) of Huntington, James (Penny) of Waterloo and Walter Jr. (Patsy) of Fort Wayne; sisters, Margo Tester and Susan Pierce, both of Fort Wayne; several nieces and nephews; and the great nieces and great nephews that she adored as if they were her own. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Covington Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Road, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2014, at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens.
