WENDELL W. JONES, 92, of Fort Wayne, died on July 13, 2014, at Miller's Merry Manor, Fort Wayne. Born on Feb. 13, 1922, in Bluffton, he was a son of the late William T. and Enola (Baker) Jones. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II, was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Fort Wayne, and retired from Delagrange Homes, after several years of service as a carpenter. He is survived by his daughters, Saundra (Mark) Dawson and Marsha (Robert) Neal; stepchildren, Ann Witter, Christine (JD) Steele and Fred (Debbie) Wysong; nephew, Philippe (Alice) Jones; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-nieces; three great-nephews; and four great-great-nieces. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Clara Lillian (Souder) Jones; and brother, William S. "Buck" Jones. Funeral service is 11a.m. Friday, July 18, 2014, at Bethany United Methodist Church, 7715 Sunny Lane, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Hockemeyer & Miller Funeral Home, 6131 St. Joe Road, Fort Wayne.
