HELEN C. RODENBECK, 85, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014, at Sunrise Assisted Living, Carmel. She was a native and lifetime resident of Fort Wayne. Helen graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1946 and International Business College in 1948. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the Rosary Sodality. Helen was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Eighteen years ago, she began her Alzheimer's journey. It took her from home to adult day care, then to a memory care unit. "Through her journey, she never lost the love of people and God. If you would have met her she would have told you she loved you. In her earlier stages she would recite the apostles creed. She wanted all to know she believed in God and her Catholic faith. Helen will be greatly missed." Surviving are her husband of 63 years, Melvin H. Rodenbeck of Carmel, Ind.: daughter, Cindy A. (Harry) Richardson of Carmel, Ind.; son, Chris A. (Camy) Rodenbeck of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Valerie (Kris) Maher, Joel Richardson, Nicholas Richardson, Tori Rodenbeck, and Tyler Rodenbeck; and a great-grandson, Hayden Maher. She was preceded in death by father, Robert F. McKering; mother, Helen McKering; and son, Michael E. Rodenbeck. Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, 2014, at St. Jude Catholic Church, with calling one hour prior. Fr. Robert D'Souza officiating.
