DELBERT P. KARST, 88, of Fort Wayne, formerly of Huntington, passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Parkview Hospital Randallia, Fort Wayne. Born July 13, 1926, in Huntington, he was a son of the late George A. and Edith T. (Scher) Karst. Delbert married Lillian F. Brown on July 11, 1970, in Louisville, K.Y.; she preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 2012. He was a retired letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Huntington. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington. He was a Third Order Lay Franciscan, member of the V.F.W. 2689, in Huntington, and Knights of Columbus. He is survived by one sister, Rosalia Dluzak of Fort Wayne; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Fred E. Karst, Richard T. Karst and George K. Karst; and three sisters, Marjorie Herrberg, Lucille Leist and Kathlyn Karst. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington (IN 46750), with Father Ron Rieder, OFM Cap, officiating. Calling is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2014, with a recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m., at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington (IN 46750). Burial in Mt.
