DR. SITARAM SHANKAR KHARBAS, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014. He was born March 3, 1922. He was a son of the late Shankar and Lahanubai Kharbas. He was a professor at IPFW, where he taught Sociology for many years. He was a Co-founder of Sangam Indo-American Association. Surviving are his wife, Indira; sons, Deepak Kharbas, Prakash Kharbas, Vijay (Ann) Kharbas; daughters, Jyoti (Madhav) Gogawale, Shubha Kharbas; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Datta (Judith) Kharbas; sisters, Devu (Vishwanath) Kardile, Sushila (Abasaheb) Sonawane, Vimal (Pundalik) Kalbhor, Kamal (Vasant) Bhonsle and multiple nieces and nephews. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne. Memorials to Parkview Hospice.
